This tea sieve can be used for making matcha tea. The holes are the ideal size for the matcha powder. It is made of stainless steel and has a double sieve. It will filter out the smallest clumps of matcha.
How do you use the Matcha sieve?
The matcha sieve can be used as a convenient way to strain matcha powder directly into a tea bowl or glass. Scoop the desired amount of matcha powder into a dry matcha sieve. Filter the powder by gently pushing it through the gauze with the chashaku or a teaspoon.
Why do you need to sieve matcha?
Lumps naturally form in matcha powder. If you make matcha tea without straining it, there will be small matcha powder lumps in the tea water. Since these matcha lumps don't dissolve in hot water, this makes drinking matcha tea less pleasant. That's why pre-straining matcha powder is an important step for you to enjoy a nice cup of matcha.
