Chocolate cake recipe with Misty Green & Rose tea

You can not only drink tea, but also cook with it! Venessa from @recipe_refashioned used our Misty Green and Rose tea to make a delicious cake. "I love to challenge myself and today I thought I would elevate the easy chocolate vanilla combo by adding a really simple flavor, tea!!”

Here's Venessa's recipe for her cake: Vanilla, chocolate and rose cake with Misty Green and Rose tea.

The ingredients you need are:

- 3 large or 4 medium eggs
- 1 cup of powdered sugar
- 1 cup of flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
1/4 cup of melted butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoon of freshly brewed room temperature Misty Green and Rose tea
- 1 tablespoon of rose water

For the icing you will need:

- 80 g dark or semi-sweet chocolate
- 1 can of sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tablespoon Misty Green and Rose tea
- 1 tbsp rose water
 
Preparation method
Preheat the oven to 180 ºC. Beat the eggs. Add the icing sugar and beat again. Sieve the remaining dry ingredients and add them to the egg and sugar mixture. Mix to a smooth batter.

Add the melted butter and stir the batter together well. Finally add the vanilla, Misty Green and Rose tea and rose water. Stir the batter well again and transfer the batter to a baking tray lined with parchment paper or in a cake tin.

Bake for about 40 minutes or until a toothpick in the center comes out clean. Remove the cake from the oven and spread a bit more Misty Green and Roses tea over the cake.

For the glazed topping, melt the chocolate over medium heat together with the condensed milk. Cook for 7-8 minutes until it thickens. Remove from the heat and add the Misty Green and Rose tea and rose water. Let cool to room temperature.

Finally, spread the mixture over the cake. As topping, you can sprinkle the dried rose petals and tea leaves over the topping. Let it cool down and then enjoy!
