Longjing tea is known for its high quality and its handmade process. This green tea is invariably in the top 10 list of China Famous Tea. The teas in this list have been rated as the best green teas in the world. Longjing tea is also known by its name Dragon Well tea, which is literally translated into English. To produce Longjing tea, the tea leaves are gently heated in pans to suppress the fermentation process.

Longjing tea is named after the Longjing Village in the region of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China.
