Masala Chai is a classic flavoured tea drink made by mixing black tea, warm milk, Indian herbs and spices. This variety with rooibos is a caffeine-free alternative to the classic Masala Chai.
The recipe of the preparation method for making Masala Chai is not fixed. In India, many families have their own versions of the tea and the method of preparation. The base is usually a strong black tea, such as Assam, so that the herbs and sweeteners do not predominate. Masala Chai almost always has the basic elements of water, tea leaves, milk, sugar and ginger. Ground cardamom, lemongrass, cloves and cinnamon are also common ingredients.
This unique Rooibos Masala Chai with selected herbs gives this rooibos tea blend its special taste. Even without the addition of milk, this tea is highly recommended (nice and strong!). As a Masala Chai, this variety with rooibos is a good caffeine-free alternative to the classic Masala Chai based on black tea.
Preparation of Rooibos Masala Chai
As described above, there is no specific method of preparation for making a Masala Chai tea. We advise:
- Pour warm milk into a tea cup or glass (about 1/3 of the cup / glass).
- Place 1-2 full teaspoon(s) of Rooibos Masala Chai in a tea filter and place the filter in the tea cup / glass.
- Pour freshly boiled hot water over the tea filter into the tea cup / glass.
- Let the tea steep for at least 10 minutes.
-Add a dash of honey if you like and enjoy!
